I-75 Closure During Cincinnati Comic Expo Weekend
Fans traveling to Cincinnati Comic Expo should plan for significant traffic impacts throughout Expo weekend due to a major closure of Interstate 75 near Downtown Cincinnati.
I-75 CLOSED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS
Weather permitting, I-75 through Downtown Cincinnati will close in both directions from 11 PM Friday, September 25 until 5 AM Monday, September 28.
Lane and ramp restrictions are expected to begin around 9 PM Friday.
The closure allows ODOT crews to install nine steel girders for the new Linn Street bridge.
I-75 North
I-75 North will close at U.S. 50 West / River Road — Exit 1D.
Entrance ramps from Fort Washington Way, Fourth Street, and Sixth Street will begin closing around 9 PM Friday.
I-75 South
I-75 South will close at Freeman Avenue — Exit 1F.
The Western Hills Viaduct entrance to I-75 South will close beginning around 9 PM Friday, with additional restrictions approaching Downtown.
Plan Ahead
Downtown Cincinnati will remain accessible. However, Cincinnati Comic Expo attendees should allow additional travel time and expect heavier-than-normal traffic.
- Northbound through-traffic can use I-71 North and S.R. 562 / Norwood Lateral.
- Southbound traffic can use S.R. 562 and I-71 South.
- Travelers who do not need to enter Downtown Cincinnati may want to use I-275 to bypass the area.
- Fans attending the Expo should check current navigation apps before leaving for the convention.
